Hey guys, I have to install a Parrot 3100 in some sort of Ford truck. My question is this:
Without buying any other harness, I can just cut all the factory speaker wires behind the factory radio and splice on the parrot wires: female Parrot black harness goes to car side, male harness to radio side. I can do this right?
Also do I need a mute wire or those 2 skinny green, purple line out wires? And what is the mute1, 2 and 3 wires for?
If I have this correct all I need to do is splice in the speaker wires behind the factory radio, give unit power and that's it right?
Thanks

its just like doing a 4ch amp using the factory stereo in a hi-lo scenerio. just cut the wire in half, then u got car side and radio side. as far as the mute as long as u hook up all for speakers(meaning the car only has 4 and not amplified in most cases) you dont need to hook the mute up seeing the parrot is interupting all the speakers anyway. i did an 06 f150 lariat the other day and it had that little 6" subwoofer in the back. i had to use the mute outpput and i cut a GREEN/ purple and interupted it with a relay to shut the sub off. because since the sub was only amped when the parrot went you could still hear bass coming in from the radio.
