I'm in the process of getting everything together for an installation of my parrot ck3100, but I have a few questions and I was wondering if anyone has done anything like this before.
i bought the parrot ck3100 and an alpine 9835 together. the 3100 was already installed and connected to the 9835's wiring harness. the way it was set up would require the use of the 9835's amp to power the speakers that the 3100 would use, but i'm going to be using an external amp. after doing some research i eventually learned that if using an external amp, the 3100 will have to be hooked up between the amp and the speakers. I don't think that going from like 14 ga wire down to 18 or 20 ga wire (the 3100's wiring) back up to 14 ga wire would do wonders for the sound quality. The only other alternative is to buy this ugly external speaker and mount it somewhere in the car:

So, I came up with this idea. I'm installing it into a '92 integra that used to have a center channel using an audiocontrol esp-2. the center channel has since been uninstalled and now there's just a big hole in the dash.

What I was thinking was installing a 3 1/2" speaker back into that hole along with a small amp to power it and using that as a dedicated speaker for the 3100. I was intially going to use the esp-2 again and try out having a center channel but i'd rather do this and not have to interrupt the signal going from my amp to the front L/R channels.
First off, has anyone ever done anything like this? Secondly, does anyone have any suggestions for a small amp, mono if possible, that I could use for this application? I'm trying to do it as cheaply as possible. I've been looking on ebay for cheap 2ch amps and have found a few but if I could find something smaller I'd like to do with it.
