noobe    1st post here ....

i searched and found all the past LEd car alarm post but none helped me.. so heres My personal dilema... i have Zero (0) electrical experience (i did do a plug and play of my ipod to eom stereo) so i can open the dash and pull all cables back from where i disconected..lol so please be gentle...

i have a complete hyper-blue LED i bought from ebay.. let me describe it: i has the bulb then a red and a black wire that meet at a prefabricated microchip "thinggie" with the blinker brain (i guess), then 3 three wires come out from it the same black (ground) and red (positive) and a yellow wire..(????)

so where do i splice and connect these three wires(near my cigarete lighter or climate control so the LED blinker works when i turn off my car and shut off when i turn on the car???
bty i can't read those diagrams need regular dumb person talk..please thanks...

to moderators: please delete the other post in the relays section i didnt know how to delete it..sorry.

If this is sold as a blinking alarm simulator, I would assume that the yellow wire requires a constant 12 volt source.  The red should require a switched 12 volt source.  And of course the black is ground.

If we knew what kind of vehicle you had we might be able to give yo a wire color and location.

https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/stereodetail/2125.html    This is the info on the 2000 Solara   It may or may not be the same as the 2001.  You will have to check and see if it is the same.    is there anyway you could take a picture of the diagram that was provided with the LED?

i have installed those LED flashers befor. heres the wiring and i will try to make it as simple as it can get.

Red - constant 12v
Black - Ground
Yellow - switched 12v

when 12v is removed from yellow, LED will flash
with 12v on yellow, LED is off.

so wiring is simple.

wire RED - 12volts from the closest 12v source (any will work eg cig lighter, fues box etc)
wire BLACK - find good place to ground it (chassis)
wire YELLOW - open up steering collum - easy to do on tundra. about 6 screws and voila. tap into the ignition (BLACK/ red)
