I like many others have purchased the knock off cheap HID conversion kit from China. The issue is this, I made all the connections per the instructions in the kit, after having to modify my harness just slightly so it would plug into the ballast. I double checked all the connections and am not able to get any light from the HID's. After examining the pins at the ballast connection and the female connector on my harness there seems to be a diffence in width. The pins on the ballast are larger than the female receptacle of the harness. It comes with a wiring harness but in all honesty i'm not sure how to connect it. The harness supplied with the kit is a 2-wire harness (pos and neg I assume). One end connects to the ballast the other end is just spade ends. Any advice on how to get it to work would be greatly appreciated or any tips on how i might move forward would be great.

it is possible the BALLAST is not getting enough power to start up the system. I purchase plug and play, but to be honest, the units are NEVER plug and play.it is always recomended when using high current draw devices, you use a relay. wire 2 relays for each HID side.. 85 - Constant 12v
86 - Negative trigger by headlight
87 - High current 12v (from battery)
30 - To postive wire running to HID ballast. find a good location to ground the Negative wire running to the ballast.

I need 2 relays for each side or 2 relays total, one for each side. To pull the negative trigger off the harness is it best to use a clamp or just pull the sheath back and solder to it?

2 Relays total. one each side. sorry that i didnt make it clear. for best connection, i suggest pulling the loom back and splice/solder it. Using Ttaps or wire taps are not reliable.

That took care of it... although there is a little bit of a flicker on occaision. It seems to only happen once, so i have not been able to pin down why it happens. But i appreciate the input in help. Thanks again

sounds like a ground issue. Try removing all the paint to where you grounded it and secure it properly. Dont follow those other hreads about placing capacitors and such, they dont do anything.

I am having the same issue with the HID Flicker on my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. I am using relays for power to the Ballast and everything is grounded very well. I had this same kit on a Ford and had no problems. Moved it to the Dodge and the Flicker started. Both bulbs flicker at the same time, so the cause of the flicker is before the relays. Is there a resistor that can be placed on the factory side of the wiring to make the truck think there is a bulb connected ( it appears that the vehicle is checking to see if the bulbs are not burned out and caused the flicker) any help would be appreciated

never heard of this issue before about the car chcking to see if the bulbs are burnt. I wouldnt suggest you use a resistor as the resistor would get VERY hot and could burn up your wires.

I am having a similar problem with my 07 Ram, i talked to a guy today and he said that if your using the just the Low Beam kit, or a 9007 HID bulb, you have to turn the lights on before your start the truck to trick the truck because the 06-07 Rams use ground pulsing. He said that he has installed many kits on these trucks and that usually solves the problem.

try that and see if it works for you tracy. The thing is a ballast runs on power obviously. But when the ballast has been turned on and becomes charged, its not suppose to have a voltage drop. and you know that when you crank the truck or car, a huge current draw is taken from the battery and the ballast (ballast looses voltage). Once the car has started, the ballast gets hit with a voltage spike from the alt. It may be okay for now, but over time you will notice the life span of your bulbs will die out faster than normally.
