Right i got a bit of a question for you?

I am in the UK and just imported a 06 silverado from USA.  I have got to fit two additional marker lights (one either side of the vehicle) to the doors and tie them into the turn signal circuit  So they flash when turn signals flash.  Daft UK regulations.  Got some nice little LED units that stick on.

I have thought about hooking them up to the front turn signals lights.  The Marker lights do not need to be on all the time, they just need to flash when turn signals flash.

I have also got powered door mirrors with turn signals in them, how about hooking upto them?

i would assume

Red - 12v
Black - Ground
White - switched source to turn out light.

im not sure what is used to trigger the led, it could be that the led is always on and the white cuts power to it. if so, ground black and connect red straght to side or parking lights.

Thanx for a reply.

I think we have got our wires crossed.  I have the wiring diagram for the LED light above.  The light is a dual mode light.  Hi / Lo output.  There is two 12v (+) supplies to the LED and a common ground (-).  Red is the Hi Input and the white is Lo input.  I'm not going to be using the Lo input.

What information i am looking for it what's the best way to Splice into the OEM multiplex wiring to power these.  Just had a phone call from VOSA (our road regulations paperpushers)  and they said they must switch ON and OFF like the turn signal led's in the powered mirrors.  I have also got to disconnect (while vehicle is tested, wink wink)  the red mirror turn signals, so I am thinking of splicing in there.

Cheers

well in a parking light, there are usually 2 wires. one is negative and one 12v wire that switches on and off during the flash.

do you want them to be ON solid, then flash if turn signals are on?  i guess HI and LOW are for 2 light functions. high - flashes lo - solid ON state.
