I have a question. how can I make the front lights of a ford expedition flash like the police cars. just for fun thank you.

Your normal headlights generally do not flash. Another bulb is inserted in the headlight assembly and it does the flashing. Some of the cheaper strobe lights that are on eBay are not very bright. They will show up at night if your headlights are off, but are washed out in daylight and by your headlights.
If you are looking for something as bright as a police car, they are much more expensive.

do you want them to flash the headlight bulbs alternately or do you want hideaway strobe lights? either way I can help you. My company builds police and emergency vehicles. let me know what you have in mind.

I Install headlamp flashers from Whelen. I have tons of these on the street with virtually no problems. They install pretty easily with roughly seven wires. You will need to install an aftermarket fuse holder and switch but it does not have to carry more than 10 amps so a radio shack piece will work fine.
I'll sell one to you for $37.00 plus shipping and 6%sales tax if you're in PA. Just be warned that you should either check with your local police as to legality or use them strictly off road, I would be negligent if I did not let you know htis.

You can make this with a flasher, 2 relays, a switch, and a fuse holder. Wire as follows:
Power through the fuse to one side on the switch.
From the switch run to the flasher, and to 30 of one relay.
The output out the flasher will run to 85 of the relay.
Ground 86 on the relay.
Connect one headlight wire to 87, and the other to 87a.
This will allow the the flasher to alternate the relay.
I would do this on the bright side.
If you have seperate circuits for right and left head light, your done, if not install another relay as follows:
While making the connection to one of the headlight wires, install a relay BEFORE the connection like this:
85 and 30 from the headlight switch.
86 to ground
87 to the wire going to the headlight.
87a unused.
Your normal headlights will now work, and so will your wigwags.
OR, instead of the second relay, you could use a diode in forward bias on the wires running to the headlights before you connection from the first relay.

The flasher that is off the shelf offers modulating flash patterns and varies the speed of the flash also. Depending on how fancy you want to get the $37.00 item has a little more gingerbread.
Warning! Do not install home made flashers on Dodge Durango's as this will fry the headlight control computer (big $$$). The Whelen units are now retrofitted to stop this from happening.

I can supply top quality industry standard Whelen flashers for less than the prices on that site. Whelen was the innovator of strobe and flasher technology and have been around for more than twenty years. As I said earlier in this posting I have hundreds of these in vehicles I have built and never have a problem.
