im trying to put hid lights in a dodge ram but they are not functioning properly the flicker on and off in low beams and will eventually shut off when they are in high beams.... please help i am told there is some type of ressitor to be hooked up....

When HIDs flicker like that it means that there is not enough amps running into it. I had the same problem with my 01 Ranger. Try running a separate 30 amp relay using the positive light cable for the headlights as the trigger, and run it with a 30 amp fuse. But connect both to the same relay. Also ground the unit to the body and not the headlight ground because if the wire is to thin that ground wouldn't work really well.

You need a relay to run the power straight off of the battery, then they'll fire up quick and have no power issues. Most stock wiring isn't even good enough for stock bulbs.
