I have 20 LEDs that I am looking to have them light up sequentially or "chase" like.

I havent bought the LEDs yet.

I am wondering what would I need to make the LEDs perform in the way I want.

Im thinking that I will just need the LEDs, resistors, and some type of board correct?

Therefore getting prewired LEDs are not a good choice?

Ex.

LED 1 --> LED 2 --> LED 3 --> LED 4

LED 1 lights up...LED 2 lights up while LED 1 turns off
LED 2 turns off when LED 3 lights up...etc

Thanks for the assist

best thing I can suggest is to use google -> led chaser circuit.

Here is something I found which might interest you, seems pretty easy.

Hope that helps.
