Look for brand name ballast. If they will not tell you who made the ballast, they are probably trying to hide the name. Metra has a line that is pretty decent, but I haven't tried any.

I have a set of DDM HID lights and they are the best i could find with out spending a fortune and they come with a lifetime warranty on the ballast and the bulbs you can get a 35w or 55w kit i have the 55w kit with 17000k bulbs they are great at night and in daytime i haven't had any problem with them at all so check them out at www.ddmtuning.com.
