Hey guys, just found this site and it has been really helpful with a ton of stupid little problems that generally arise. My problems are generally with new Ford vehicles, generally ones that run H13 bulbs.
I have one 98 F150 that runs 9007s and for some reason, everything works perfectly IF you turn on the lights before you start the vehicle. Otherwise they strobe and generally blink out. Also when you turn it off while it's running they strobe for a second, then stay out. I would simply hook up a relay but it's a H/L kit and I'm unsure how to do that.
The other problems I have all include H13 H/L kits that also have H10 fogs. These range from 06 F250, 08 F150, and an 08 F250. The F150 works perfectly, but I can't keep ballasts and ignitors in it for over 3 months. The F250s are both diesels btw, but only the 06 has problems with ballasts or anything else for now. The 2008 however has a mind of it's own. Periodically the lights will just go out, not turn on, on high and low beam. Almost always the DRL will cause the bulbs to strobe and go out.
If anyone has any ideas how I can fix this, this would be great! I'm really at a loss of how to hook up a relay on these things with the high and low beam. Also, the kits only draw from one side, 2 ballasts and one control relay for them both. Any other questions, or suggestions, feel free to email me.
Thanks!

on the factory bulb plug find the negative trigger that turns the bulb on. This is the ONLY wire you wwill use from the factory plug. Use that to trigger a relay that gets it power from the battery. 1 relay for each bulb. 85 gets the Ford wire. 86, and 87 get 12v from the battery. 30 goes to the hids. -------------
