Ok my daytime safety lights work only when they want. When they are working properly the gauge shows the light icon. When they are off the icon is blinking.  I installed HID bulbs last year and have had this problem ever since. I also have an audio system in the vehicle. 1996 cavalier, 4AWG from bat(fuse block 6" from bat 100A fuse) 4AWG run to a 2 farad cap, 4AWG ground, 4AWG power/grounds off cap to 2 kicker amps, 08zx750.1 and 08zx350.4 powering some cheap old school pioneer ts series speakers and a 15" L7 sub. Big 3 upgrade done. I have checked and double checked any relays I can possibly think of. I have no clue why the lights are not working properly. I have no issues when I turn the headlights on at night though, only the daylight safety feature.

The GM DRL work on reduced voltage... an HID's worst nightmare. You MUST disable the DRL.

Maybe do a search on our friend google, to see if there are any possible answers.

use the drm circuit to feed a relay, then use that relay to feed the hid's. OR(better)  use iginition to feed the relay,

which feeds the hid's
