2004 Range Rover troubleshooting.
I purchased new bulbs for my range rover with factory HID. However after putting them in they don't work. So I pulled my DMM and checked the voltage on the center metal piece of my bulb connector. I get 12volts when the headlight switch is on and when the vehicle is off I get 0 volts.
My question is. Does having voltage at the bulb mean as long as the bulb is good that it will light up?

Did you test for power with the bulbs connected? You may get 12 volts at the harneses without then connected, but you may get a different reading with then connected. ------------- **ADVANCED MECP CERTIFIED

just for simple troubleshooting, plug the old bulbs back in and see if they will ignite. pretty much all D2s bulbs are universal, so if they worked with the old ones but not the new ones, its the bulbs, and not the wiring. Play it safe and check all your wiring, but if youre getting 12v to the ballast, the bulb should fire
