hi,
i own a 2005 optra and i just installed a new headunit and when i was done i still had 3 wires left over.
and now mair bag light stays on! i am wondering if those 3 wires have to run through the factory stereo?

Anytime anything that is on the airbag gets disconnected, it puts the system in warning mode. Always remove the neg- battery terminal before anything is unplugged inside the vehicle, especially the airbag system. Some reset by removing the neg- battery terminal until the caps drain out(5-10mins). Other resets require a special key turning process to reset. Check a forum of you make and model, its always a good way to find info like that.

Find someone with a diagnostic reader that can hook your car up to it...and have them reset the SRS system (clear the code). I had this happen when messing with some wiring. The light never came back on.
