just bought an older ml430. It has hids on the front bumper but one was broken, so the dealer gave me a new set. The factory harness for the lights has a white and a black wire for each light. Unfortunately the new lights have a black and a blue wire coming from them. Black is power, blue is ground. Is there an easy way to hook these lights up without having to rewire everything the way the box shows me. The car is already wired with a switch and everything. I was hoping to just plug in and that would be the end of it, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Any help would be great, thanks guys!
The issue is the mating of the two lead ends - one on your car and one on the HID harmess.
Either keep searching for the OEM that will mate, or splice a new connector on the ends.
What you are connecting is 12v at a couple of amps, there's nothing particularly interesting or noteworthy about it.
As long as the supply path is fused at some point, you can use any type of connector sufficient for your purpose.
You could use heavier spade lug connectors and wrap them to keep moisture out.
I used some 4 pole trailer hitch connectors for my HIDs and doubled the wires for twice the connections path.
Peruse the auto parts store, and see if you have some electronics supply store in your town, hopefully better than Radio Shack, and in one afternoon settle on what to buy.
Note - if you make splices, and it is at all possible, solder the connections and use a generous amount of shrink tubing.

I know just enough to be dangerous. VERY dangerous.
