Hi,

I have an appliance that makes a very short momentary electrical contact.
Contant duration is less than 2 ms. This is enough to be recognized by my computer but I want to use it to fire my photoflash immediately
Therefore I need a solution behind my first contact that acts immediately and will endure the momentary contact a little longer to allow photoflash to discharge.
I assume that I need to hold the secondary contact for 150 - 250 ms.

I assume that such kind of solution are developed earlier.
I would say something with a 555 timer.

If you know such a solution please let me know.

Are you sure?
What type of flash needs a trigger long enough for full discharge? Those I am familiar with merely need the trigger (excluding power & ancient flashers - not that I have kept up with the latest).

Any capacitive discharge flash should only require a trigger.
