I have a '01 Jeep Cherokee that I just installed a 35w HID kit on, the vehicle originally had h4 bulbs with hi and lo in a single bulb and a 45sec shut off timer when the car was shut down. I lost the hi beams by putting in the HID kit (only got the single light version), which is no big deal because even on low these things blow my old lights away. W

When i turn my car off the lights automatically stay on for 45 seconds, when the timer expires, it seems that the ballasts are still bleeding power because the lights will start to flicker and you can hear the relay buzzing under the dash, it will do this continuously. I found that after the 45seconds I can flick the high beams (which don't exist) and it will shut the lights down.

Any insight into this?

Are the ballasts getting power directly from the battery?  Is there a relay triggered by the OEM wiring?

I didnt see anything about a relay..  I sell Hid's one thing i notice, American cars are wired crazy!.. yea japanese cars are nuts too yet never had problems installing hid's on a honda, nissan or toyota..

i had a hard time on a jeep srt8 i had to get delayed relays so this problem wouldnt carry on..
