I am installing auxiliiary driving and fog lights, a total of 400 watts,  to a Dodge Ram 1500 4wd pck up.  My wondering is about whether the stock electrical sysytem will handle the extra load.  I don't mind adding an auxiliary battery through an isolator, but I do wonder if an isolator is the way to go?  Any ideas?

i don't think you need a isolator but it will work also, i would just wire up a relay system and use the factory electrical fog light signal for the relay. You can use any 12v relay, you can wire up pin 30(+) to aftermarket fog lights, pin 86(-) ground, pin 87(+) to battery power recommended fuse 35amp max,and pin 85(+) from factory fog light signal.

You can also use two relays if you would like, depends how many fog lights you are running.
