Can someone point me to a place here where I can get info on installing my "owned " light as a third brake light on an older car? (not a JC Whitney after market)

thanks

Do the brake lights on your older car do double duty as the turn signals?

Your existing tail light's brake wire circuit probably does double duty as turn signals.  To make your light work properly, you will likely have to tap the cold side of the brake switch near the brake pedal and then run a wire from there to your 3rd brake light.  It would help if we knew what kind of car (year, make, model) you are installing into?

I should know better... 62 Ford Falcon. I was hoping to not have to run a wire from the cold side of the brake as suggested. Turn and stop lights do double duty. Wanted to hook something up at the rear deck.

thanks again this site is awesome

It can be done at the back deck, but you will still need to run a power wire to the front of the car. It will be much more complicated, requiring diodes and relays. So since you will have to run a wire to the front, just run it to the cold side of the brake switch.
