I have a 1998 GMC Safari Van. I bought some amber/white switch back bulbs. I have a problem though, that I forgot when I ordered them. When my parking lights are on and I turn the turn signal on the parking lights stay lit in the front and don't allow the amber lights to show up all that well. I was wondering if there was a way to change it so that when the car starts to signal the light go back and forth. Thanks for any help.

Well I've figured out how to do this...I found a diagram elsewhere to achieve this, but now I want to modify it.
I want to keep the relay open when the turn signal comes on I'm guessing about 2 seconds, so that it is not flashing back and forth but only orange. Was thinking about a capacitor or anything to help me achieve this. Any help appreciated.

Exactly. A "de-energise" delay is needed. The other method uses a DPDT relay per side and relocation of the flasher can (ie, the +12V flasher switch actuates whichever side's relay and the relay disconnects the parker power and connects the flasher can to the lights). There are also electronic circuits which IMO means a PICAXE controller (my #2 PICAXE project using a $4 8-pin 08M is this circuit, albeit for combined reverse/flasher rear lights).
Though I prefer an RC delay feeding a transistor to switch the relay, have a look at
Pulsed to Steady Output noting that IMO the 10k fixed resistor is not required, and the spike suppressing diode (between relay 85 & 86) is probably not needed .
Have a look at
exLED Electrical TPC Module Ver.2.
Each "set" ordered is 2 modules as required to do left & right sides.
