I put some DDM Tuning HID's in my 05 Ski Doo Mach Z snowmobile and I'm having a slight issue. The bulbs have a built in 'positioner' that makes the bulbs move outward for high beam and retract for low beam. However, my sled has a resting voltage of 5 volts on the high beam wire that is enough to actuate the bulbs. Anyone know of any way I can possibly fix this? I was thinking maybe a relay, but I'm not sure if 5 volts would be enough to still activate it...

I would try a diode or 2 inline with the relay to drop that 5 volts down even further to take it well out of the activation range of the relay. Diodes are cheap so not much loss in trying. Figure about .7 volts drop per diode so 2 drops you 1.4 volts which might be enough. Give it a shot.

I was thinking either diodes or resistors but wasn't sure how many would be required or if there would be any ill affects from them.
