Hey guys, this is my first post and I hope I can explain the best I can with what my problem is. Long story short I bought 12v wire from home depot to run through the car and hook up led foot well lighting. I bought a 3 way switch from oznium (https://www.oznium.com/gsw-45) and bought the on/off/on switch. basically I want to make it so the top position is on all the time, middle position is off and the bottom position is on with dome light and off when you close the door. without the switch the leds stay on all the time (just hooked up + and -. I found the roof wire and tapped into the + wire and ran a wire to a inline fuse and from that to the main harness that goes around the car. I have the - for the dome light going to one of the connectors on the switch and the - end of the main wire connected to the switch as well but can only get the leds to function like the dome light (can't get the constant on to work) If I knew what wire to tap into and knew where each wire needed to go it would help. Heres a link to my threads on a Toyota forum I go on as well as a few youtube videos with my trying to explain the issue. I'd appreciate any help :)

Ground your LEDS. Then, you hook the foot-well LEDs + side to the center (POLE
) of the switch. Then, one side to Battery + (On all the time), and the other side to your car's dome light wire.

So, when on one position, they're on all the time. In the other, they only come on with the dome lights.

Can't edit posts? I used a bracket with center for a reference, and the post got centered after it. Can't go back up and edit it.

Take the Negative (-) leads of your LEDs, and ground them to the battery at negative, or any interior chassis ground; Radio, Cig Lighter...

Hook all the + sides of the LEDs to the center (POLE) of the switch.

Hook up to +12V to the battery or other constant +12V source to one side of the switch. If your Cig. Lighter is always hot, you can use it too.

Splce into, and Hook up a stock interior lamp +12 wire to the other side of the switch.

You can use those splicers inside, but they are not reliable for use outside the vehicle, anywhere that is exposed to the elements.   They oxidize and fail eventually..
