HEY Im going to be installing 4 back lights into a 96 Honda Accord. Ive drawn up a diagram of the layout but i want to make sure its right. I was told to add some relays but im new at this and I dont really know what to get or how to attach it. Also i was told it would be a good idea to wire the power line to the battery, but i have subs hooked to the baterry already and i dont want to kill my battery. Id like to hook it to a 12v wire thats only active if the cars on this way if i leave the lights on my car doesnt die, but i dont know which wire to tap. Attach the + to a switched ignition source ( BLACK / YELLOW @ the ignition switch ). Use a 10 amp fuse for the lights on this wire.

could you elaborate on that , sorry im kinda lost. I get attaching the fuse in the + wire but i dont get the ( BLACK / YELLOW @ the ignition switch ) part

hes saying if you pull power from the ignition it will only come on while the vehicle is in the "on" position, and it should be able to handle the current load. If you dont want to do that find a terminal in the fuse panel that only comes on while the vehicle is ON (use a voltmeter). then wire that to a coil terminal on a relay (85 or 86) the other to ground, then wire terminal 30 to a fuse, then to that battery, then terminal 87 to the neon. I would highly recommend putting a switch in line to shut them off, considering they are most likely illegal to drive with on.

yea, i included a switch on the ground line ( dont know why the ground a teacher instucted me to do so) So am i Is there any specific type of relay i need to use? Ive never used them b4. And if i attach it to the fuse box do i just wrap the wire around a fuse and stick it in there? if so what type of fuse would i use? aLSO this part, "then wire that to a coil terminal on a relay (85 or 86) the other to ground". Just to double check does that mean wire the fuse box wire to ither 85 or 86 then attach which ever one u dont use to the ground source?

yea that looks good, but in that drawing you have 2 terminals named 86 (i think hard to see), the one on the right should be 85, and then your all set. Are those resistors in line with the neon though?

yea one side is 86 and one is 85 . But resistors???? I need them now?
