Hi All,

Im going to be instslling heated seats into my fiance's 201 Ford Escape.

I have already figured out where I will ground and where I will tap for the actual seats. The swith I will be using can also be set up to light up like everything else on the cars interior. To do this I will tap the wire that energizes the shifter lights in the console.

Does anyone here know which wire this is?

Thanks,

James

Probably violet/gry. But I'm not certain. Beware that the backlighting on late cars is usually LED lighting, controlled by an FET in the SJB (body controller). Changing the load on these outputs can set error messages in the DIC. The diagnostics are very sensitive to changes in expected load.

Test first. You may have to use a hot in RUN source instead of the backlighting circuit.
