So I'm custom making an LED tail light setup for my 1994 RX7 and I wanted to run my wiring diagram by people more knowledgeable than myself. I've torn the car apart and rebuilt it so I'm pretty comfortable with the particular cars wiring but the added features I'm trying to add into the taillight design haven't all been done on this specific car. The design looks like this:
Basically the halos are DRL and tail lights, while the brake lights fill up he inbetween. The DRL will come on and stay on the entire time the car is running. I'm trying to set them up so when the blinker activates while the brakes are on the brakes on the blinking side go out (otherwise its hard to notice the signals since the center lights are much brighter. Not illustrated is the cars center high mount brakelight . Designing the lights is no problem, but controlling them had me stumped for a while.
The factory lighting system has two dual intensity brake/taillights and a normal side blinker on each side. Looks like this:
Below are the three factory wiring diagrams for the concerned circuits as well as one of the idea I have.
And my wiring schematic:
Am I on the right track with this scheme to get everything working the way I'd like? Is there a better, easier, or safer way to achieve the setup I'm looking for? Any help or opinions would be appreciated.
