How would you go about switching an array of neons on or off from two locations? I know how to do this with two on-on switches but can it be done using two on-off switches and possibly a relay or a diode or two?

do you mean like turning them on with a switch and maybe a remote transmitter from an alarm ?? If so yes you can do that using a relay.

I mean turning them on and off with a switch in the front of the car and a switch in the back of the car. If this can be done with relays can you please explain how?

It is possible and you don’t need a relay just a 3 way switch.

Well thats the problem...I'm trying to achieve it using two 2-way on-off switches. Any ideas?

Just wire two toggle switches up( one wire to ground and one wire to turn the relay on, 85 of following relay) and put them where ever you want them. You could put one of the switches in your dash and one in your trunk. posted_image

auex, will that setup allow each switch to turn on and off the lights? For example, If I turn on the lights from the front will I then be able to turn them off in the back, or vice versa?

No, which ever switch you turn it on with you have to turn it off with. You don't need to make this over complex, this is the easiest way to do it.

I do need to make it over complex though...I need a way to do it so that I can turn the lights on or off from either switch. I dont want to have to run back to the front of my car after I turn them on from the front...I need to be able to turn them off in the back. thanks for your help so far...any more suggestions?

There's 2 ways to do it:

Using SPDT switches:

Or using relays. Just make sure you wire the relays' contacts exactly as shown:
