I'm interested in lighting up my entry/exit to/from my Jeep.

I decided to add a light to my roof rack pointing to the ground that turns on when I open the door or via a switch in the dash.

Plus a light strip on the interior that turns on when I open the door or by a switch from the dash.

So, I want both lights to come on when the door opens or when I flip a switch in the dash for the perspective light. I don't know how to wire the relays for that configuration. I may decide to add a circuit that slowly dims the lights to off when the ignition is off.

Any suggestions?

I guess I'll wire it all on a test bench and figure it out on my own.

Sometimes that's the best way to do things.

It's a 93 Jeep Cherokee. For this project, it doesn't matter. I'm adding keyless entry, removing the factory dome light and replacing it with the strip lighting and external entry light for safety and visibility in these dark Alaskan winters.

Yes, on a test bench may be the best way to learn how to do it. But, the summers are short and I don't have much time to get the project done. That's why I asked for assistance here.
