A friend of mine had a roof mounted light bar installed and hates the way they ran the wiring(across the roof and down the rear of the cab using double sided tape and zip ties). I was thinking of drilling a hole in the third brake light and running the wire in the cab that way. But it’s not something I’ve seen or done myself. He really doesn’t want to drill a hole in his brand new trucks roof. (The 3rd Brake light is easier to replace) that’s why I was thinking of using that.
Any other ideas ? Thanks Joe

If your buddy did not need a full light bar, then I would have recommended something like the Acari mounts.
Acari Light Mount
I would not be happy with the current installation either.
Most municipal vehicle applications have holes drilled through the roof, but I know your buddy does not want anything permanent.
Thanks Audiokid for the Reply. I'm aware of the Acari mounts i have one on my personal truck (a little pricy but worth it i think anyway). Unfortunately he wants the full light bar. I may try the 3rd brake light idea when its a little warmer out here.

Hey Joe seems I'm a bit late to this post so most likely you've already resolved this issue although what you could do is running the wiring from the light bar down under the truck along the frame to the battery could run the wires through some flexible plastic tubing to avoid chafing as well and it still wont be the prettiest site
Sorry I forgot to update this. I ended up using the 3rd brake light as a pass through. Worked out well.
