Merry Christmas! I am an infrequent visitor, but I have been helped several times by the clever gentlemen that contribute here. I'd like to run something by you. The thread is
here. But the post that I'd like a hand with is #28. I've been using dual-color LED's in my fog/aux lights for the last five vehicles, and when I came across the plug 'n' play replacements for my Model 3 I was thrilled. Before ordering I called the company to ask them if their replacements worked exactly the same as the OE fogs with which the car was born. They assured me that they would. But they don't.
If any of you guys have an idea I'd be might pleased to hear it! Many thanks!
Sorry - this is a 2022. It was born with LED matrix headlights & factory [white-only] fog lights. There is an on-screen switch that activates the OE fog lights. Prior to making any changes...as long as the headlights are on the OE fogs can be turned on & off with their on-screen switch. But after making the swap, that random-access functionality only works when the running lights are manually-selected**
** I highlighted "manually-selected" because the main lighting system has 4 on-screen buttons; OFF, RUNNING LIGHTS, HEADLIGHTS, & AUTO. The manufacturer did state that their A/M fogs cannot be operated with the fog light switch when the main system is set to AUTO. This is disappointing (and true) but...well...let's see if anybody has a theory!
P.S.: I should add...
In all scenarios the quick double-flash of the hi-beams DOES change the color of the fog lights. The first double-flash will change them from white to amber, and a second double-flash will change them back. And the integrated sequential turn signals also work 100%.
