what do you mean? how many amps it uses, or what am i using the light for?

i mean how much current draw (measured in Amps) how many watts is the bulb? the quick and dirty method would be a capacitor but most likely a large value cap would be needed and it would really be a waste of money for the cap... i was thinking to use a small value cap to discharge through a transistor and limit current slowly until finally turning off.

tryed messing arround on a simulation s/w its a 5W bulb and the SW says 417, I could use a capacitor but it only works on a LED (2 sec to fade), but for some reason the transistor keeps blowing upposted_image
