Hi there, im in the UK and want to add summat to my car so the brake lights flash on and off from a switch.

can anybody post up a diagram to acheive this??

there is one hitch tho...i have a third high level brake light, and would need to isolate this from the flashing circuit, or if it is possible....to make this flash in an opposite sequece to the normal brake lights?!

Hope someone can help, thanx

Well it depends if you want to control it or not...You can just use a relay and a toggle switch. Most of the time all three lights use the same wire. Meaning one wire will come from all three wires, and tie together somewhere in the car. I'm not quite sure how you can get the two lights to flash without the three light.

Do you want the option of when your pressing the brake and by the flick of the switch the lights will flash alternately but only flash when pressing the brake, or as soon as you flick the switch its constantly flashing all the time?

hi there

yeah i want it so i can activate the system by switch, to run itself, not when i touch the brake light. This kind of device is used in the UK by the emergency services, but looks very effective, i often have to stop in dangerous places on dark roads when im at work so need a setup like this so my car can be seen and not crashed into!!!

hope this helps....a wiring diagram and what i will need would help greatly, thanx

Wouldn't your hazark lights work in this case, just curious.  I have figured a way to make your brake lights alternate based on a switch, its just I'm trying to figure a way to isolate so it doesn't screw up your factory wiring.
