I have matrix dual halo lights for my focus. I was driving last night and noticed the light flickering. I decided to tackle the problem this morning. It turns out, since the harness that connects to the ford harness is like a dongle (which is zip tied to secure it) it got water in  and corroded (blue/green powder)and weakend the metal male and female connectors(it fact the low beam wire just dropped out of the ford harness once I touched it). There was a fair amount of liquid (I guess water) in the harness, I mean when I took it apart it was like I had just squeezed a sponge. Oh and this is only the drives side lo beam that had the major corrosion. So I ended up straight wiring that head light with crimps for now. Can I cut out the harnesses and get some male /female slide conectors and wire them that way and make sure they are water tight, will there be any problems, I don't have drl's. Also passenger side is started to corrode but not nearly as bad since it is less exposed. The corrosion was mostly around the lo beam pos wire on both sides.

You could check into a salvage yard and get a new harness should be no more than 10 or 15 bucks then just switch them out and make sure you use some electrical water sealant from your local auto parts store....its only like 98 cents or so... thats what I did for my civic cause the previous owner fried the wiring with to high of bulbs im guessing...(then I also upgrade my wiring with a H4 kit)

I decided to use the 3m connectors for now that are fully insulated. But here is another question if I got back to using my stock headlight units in the future and want new stock headlight harnesses, how would u put those in just solder the wire to wire??

You can get pigtales at any auto parts stores for those headlights. Cut the wires clean, shove some shrink tube through all the wires to be soldered then solder the wires, slide the tubeing over the bare wire and put some heat to it. Done deal.
