470 would work, 330 would also work and be a little brighter

470 will give around 20mA, 300 around 28 mA

This should help, parralell or series

This is good to have if you want to work with LED's.

how many are you installing?

if you are installing a few the simpliest way to explain would just take each LED, attach a resistor in series with it, and wire each one of those to +12V

you can get into series/parallel but for that sake of simplicity im not gonna bother explaining that unless you are using like 5 or more..

ohh just reread your original post... 10... you can still do as said above...

nah you dont have to do that, they only draw 20mA, so 10 of them will only draw 200mA about that of a relay

just use one power wire that branches to the 10 LED/resistor combos

imagine there are 10 sets of resistor/LEDs in between the little "o" s, sorry for the horrible drawing lol

not too sure what that drawing is showing, but im going to guess it shoes them in series. You want them in parallel, as if your drawing had them stacked on each other... the all hook to +12 and ground, none would hook together in a row
