i found i RED / black burnt wire in my left taillight assemly. i believe this is the wire for my turn signals which are not workin...im not sure if the same problem has occured in the right taillight (its raining, ill check it when it stops) but i was wondering how i would be able to replace this wire? and also, should i check the entire wire (fom the taillight to my steering column where the switch is located) before i just change the wire that is visibly burned?

thank you

chris

ok, i just checked, the wires for the right taillight are all fine...i looked and found out the RED / black wire goes to my brake lights...the brake lights work when the brakes are applied but do stay on in their dim state when the parking lights or headlights are on (what is going on???)...if this wire is not my turn signal wire...what could be the cause of my turn signals not working?

if neither side works. check fuse.

What car is this?

Take off switch and look to see if the connections are damaged from years of use and/or are dirty.  Look for broken wires too.
