2000 Toyota Tundra, Parking Lights

I'm sorry is this is not appropriate for this forum.  I've read every item found by searching on Toyota Tundra.  I didn't find exactly what I need, but suspect some one has it available.

Tundra is an SR5 extended cab.  May also be called Access, because there are 2 "Access Doors" to the rear seats.

Only way I can turn off the parking and instrument lights is to disconnect the battery.  When I connect the battery the lights stay off.  When I turn the parking lights back on, they will not go back off until I disconnect the battery.

If the switch was bad, or a relay stuck, I would think the lights would come on as soon as I reconnected the battery.  They don't.

Does anyone know where I can get a diagram that shows the entire circuit for the parking lights?  Another diagram showing locations whould also be helpful.

Hmmm, what exactly happened to cause this in the first place. DId it all of a sudden just start or something else may have caused it to happen.

You can get a repair manural.Go to the auto parts store. But under the hood in the fuse and relay box look for the relay for the parking lights, swap it out with a differt relay. see if that is it. i seen that happen before.

Problem was intermittent for several months.  They would go out after locking and unlocking the doors with the remote several times.  Only thing that I can think of that happened:  I listened to a football game Sunday and ran the battery down.  I jumped it off, and drove home.  Problem has been solid every since.  Battery needs to be replaced before Winter; It's not holding a charge very well, but I can't see it being a cause for this problem.

I looked in both fuse boxes and can found no relays that say anything about parking lights.   I did find the head light relay.  I guess it might be used for both.  I even tore part of the dash out, thinking I would find more relays behind the fuse box.

I am in the boonies and getting to a parts store that carries repair manuals isn't as easy as I would like.  It will be a few days before I can get there.  Though about ordering on line, but that will take longer.

Do you have a keyless entry or alarm, you mention they go out after locking and unlocking. If so take off the wire that goes to your parking lights form the alarm brain, the problem could be in tere.

Thanks swamprat, you're probably right.  I haven't found the brain.  I'll look tomorrow, but if the brain makes no sound (such as a clicking relay), I'll never find it without a repair manual.
