Alright guys this is what I want to do, on my 2002 civic I have a turn signal and a brake light. I need you guys to tell how I can wire this up. I want to make it so that when you hit your brakes they flash and alternate from brake light to turn signal. I also need to know how to make it so that when you turn on your turn signal and hit your brakes the brakes go solid and the turn signal flashes. How can I do this????? And just so that you know I do have a pretty decent knowledge of electronics I just need to know what parts to buy and how to wire it up, thanks guys!! Interesting... are you going to include the third brake light in the flash scheme?.. I would set it up where they flash for the first few seconds when the brake pedal is pressed.. after maybe 5-10 seconds the brake lights go on solid. The flashing would get annoying to someone sitting behind you in traffic. I'm thinking either microprocessor controlled, or AND, OR, NOR gate controlled.. I'm thinking about it.. Jim

One more thing to consider - it may be a violation of NHTSA regulations to alter the lighting, when it comes to brake and turnsignal lights. The second one would probably not be an issue, but the first idea seems to me like it would definitely be an issue... Your local laws may vary, but I would check with your local authorities BEFORE you attempt something like this, or you might be doing all for nothing...
I am guessing you are in California, because no other state has jumped on the lame-o euro taillight thing (take it easy - it's just a joke, and only MY opinion, it won't hurt you...) like we have, and if you are, I would REALLY check with the CHP... those guys have NO sense of humor.
