hello. i just bought twin halo projector headlights for a 2001 Tahoe from ebay.

i need help with 2 parts.

1) Wiring:  the halo part has red wire and white wire. where should i connect those.

the corner light has a green wire with a yellow stripe and a black solid wire....where should those go?

2) Taking the lense apart.

i heard that these are not bright and they only hold H3 bulbs. i want to modify the lamp so that it will hold my 9005 bulb / plus i love the color of my bulb.

while i was looking at how i can change the bulb i saw that there is a piece of plastic mounted inside the chamber of  the projector lense part, this piece covers half  light bulb from shining through the lense. i want to remove that, but in order to do that i have to take the whole headlight apart.

can anyone tell me how to take it apart without breaking it.

i heard you can bake it but i am not too thrilled about that idea. any others?

also once it is done what should i use to seal it back up? thanks guys.

See where the RED wire goes to. If it goes to the center of the H3 bulb, then this is your (+) wire and the WHITE will be the (-). If it's the other way around, then reverse what I just said. The GREEN/ YELLOW and the BLACK will be your side marker/turn signal lights. You will need to splice these into the wires that are for your running lights or turn signals.

I would not try to mess with the conversion to the 9005 bulbs. The H3 is designed to be inserted into the headlight and produce a high intensity focused beam of light and if you try to convert a 9005 to go into the same location of the H3, you will run into condensation problems and prematurely burning out your bulbs all the time because of heat and condensation on the bulbs.

the red and white wires are actually connected to the halo rings. it is to make them light up.

the H3 bulb is prewired to plug right into my existing harness so i do not have to wire that up.

do u really think the 9006 ( i wrote 9005 by mistake ) would cause that many problems?

i thought that they used a H3 because there was very little room to fit anything else.

oh  and the corner lights are 194 bulbs with  green wire with the yellow stripe and the black solid wire....

these are extra bulbs, my factory headlight has nothing there....should i splice it in with the 194 bulbs in my corner lights?

that shouldn't put any strain or take any watts/ volts away from the factory harness and factory corner light right ? 

black is ground ?  and the green with yellow stripe should be positive right ?

sometimes even though a wire is black they aren't always ground that is why i am asking.

Sorry, misread your post. You can wire in the halo wires into your running lights ( parking lights ) or have it turn on with your day time running lights. RED will be the (+) and WHITE will be your (-) ground. As far as the 9006 bulb, try inserting the bulb into the hole and you will see what I mean. How much room do you have behind the bulb before it hits something? Make sure if you start hacking into the lights that you have enough room to do the mods necessary.

yea there is no way i can get the 9006 bulb in there without cutting anything, the hole for the bulb to go through is even too small.

behind the bulb i will also have to cut some plastic to make it fit. i think it will fit no problem once it is done though.

my only problem inside the projector housing part is a piece of plastic that is screwed in, it comes up half way from the bottom, even the H3 bulb looks like it falls behind this plastic........

 if i can open the headlight and get the palstic out, the 9006 should have plenty of room inside the lense.

i think this piece of plastic that is inside the lense is what gives the projector the blue color when the light is not on, or it keeps the light bulb from shining direct so people are not blinded from the light.

. the reason i think thats all the plastic is,  is because if u look at the actual projector lense from the back it looks completely clear.

if u look at it from the front it looks blue, but if u remove the bulb in the back and look from the front again u can see light shining through from were the bulb was removed and that is totally clear too.

do u understand what i mean, in my head it sounds right but when i typing it u may not get what i mean.

Projector headlights are supposed to have that shield in them.  The purpose is to give you a clean cut off line where the light projects.  Putting 9006's into these assemblies would be a waste of time.  You should look into gutting the junk projectors, and retrofitting some HID projectors from an Audi, BMW, S2000, etc.  That's what I did.

Hopefully you got a good set I got a set froom Ebay for my 2003 Accent and they were the biggest pieces of S@#t. The Halo burnt out after a week, then they started getting condensation in them, I ended up going back to stock but they looked good 4 the first week.
