I wired an LED to my E-FAN so it would light up to let me know when the fan turned on. That works fine. The problem is that the led will light up slowly and become brighter the faster I drive, even when the fan is off. It seems that the freewheeling fan is creating electricity on its own. How can I correct this? The led is wired after the controller. The fan also draws 30 amps.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

If you use a relay it will probably take care of that problem. 85 ground, 86 +input from fan, 30 +12V, 87 output to led.

I also heard that a 12v led would work. I think what I have now is a 2v with a diode. Does that sound right?
