Hello everyone,
I own a 1998 Toyota Rav4. I'm looking to install a few LEDs under the dashboard. I would like to not show any wires and to have a switch somewhere on the dashboard. I am not very good with electronic connecting. Can anyone teach me or give me a step-by-step guide to installing these LEDs. For example, what I need to buy, how to connect the wires, and any other hints/tips I may need to complete my project succsessfully.

Things to buy:
Either some pre-made LEDs that will run off of 12 volt or buy regular ones and put a resistor in with them. The individual LEDs are cheaper but take a small amount of math to figure out the resistors.
I will assume you buy the indivdual LEDs and resistors.
You need to find a power wire under the dash and then splice off of it, doesn't really matter which one because the LEDs won't take hardly any power. One that is on with ignition would be good to prevent you from leaving the LEDs on with the car off and running your battery down, which would take a while anyway with a few LEDs but could be done.
Run the power wire to the location of the LEDs. You need to run the power and ground wire to all LEDs in this configuration. Hook the XXohm resistor up to the power wire and then the positive side of the LED (usually indicated by the longer leg) hook the other leg of the LED to the ground wire. Keep running both wires to the next LED and do the same, you can do as many of these as you like, probably about 100 before you need to worry at all about power consumption and then I don't even think it will matter.
At the last LED just end the power wire on the resistor and run the negative to your switch wherever it is located and then to ground.
When you hit the switch, the LEDs ground and voila! LEDs wonders for everyone.

Can you draw a quick diagram on Paint for me? I'm sorry, I'm a very visual learner. Also, I'll need to know where the power wire is and how to ground all the LEDs. Thanks for replying!
