I have hooked up a neon (one of the ones that can "pulse" with the beat).  I have tried joining the + terminal to both the amplifer power and amplifer remote turn on lead.  I have also tried grounding the amp and neon in the same place or different places but i still get noise.  The neon is about a foot away form the 1200watt amp and the subwoffer is also about a foot away.  The sub reproduces static when the neon is connected reguarless of how it is connected.  Would it be better to wire it off the battery?  I have a 4-8AWG distribution block.  Im running 8AWG power to the amp, can i run 16AWG wire to the neon through the 8AWG block or would i be better sticking with 8AWG power throught.  Or can i alter the wiring from the amp to stop the noise/static

Any ideas and input is greatly appreciated

Don't hook the neon up to the amp.. run a seperate power line from your distribution block to your neon.. The transformer in the neon is whats causing the noise in your amp.

Try wiring it up to the back of the wire that goes to the lighter b/c it turns off when the car is off and if you want to toggle it on and off you could add a toggle switch to the (+). I did this and it worked out well. Wiring was a "B" cause hardwired 4 together and with a central pulse unit on a toggle.
