Spray painting is one way, although it is pretty permanent

I haven't tried this, but I know a lot of people that have with great results.

It looks like a good product...

I just did my buddies last week, we took them out of his car and used spray window tinting, it looks like crap on windows i think, but didnt look too bad on his tail lights. The tint is cool, because its dark to look at but when they light up they almost look stock. The only bad thing is getting it smooth, this spray comes out heavy,

You might want to consider what your insurance company would say if you got rear-ended and the person who hit you said that they couldn't see your taillights because they are tinted...

I tint taillights all the time at my shop. I remove the taillights first from the vehicle. Then I use 180 grit on a da sander and remove all the writing on the taillights. This is usually the dot numbers and part numbers. Then i use 600 grit on a da and smooth the taillights out to my liking. Then I prep the taillights with wax and grease remover to remove any oils on them. This is the hardest part which is to take your normal automotive clear coat and put some black base coat into the clear coat. Dont worry even though it looks dark when you add the black base coat it will actually go on light and take several coats. I usually do 4 to 5 coats on each set of taillights. I use a mixture ratio of 5:1 which is 5 parts clear coat to one part black base coat. After you have applied the clearcoat to your darkness let dry for at least 12 hours. Next if you have any imperfections in your clear coat just wet sand and buff. Now your done and enjoy your new tinted taillights.

I've found a fast way to remove the spray on tints is to spray the taillights with brake parts cleaner, but you have to be careful when your doing this, because it will strip the paint and sometimes crack the lenses, depending on how much you spray and how strong the brake parts cleaner is

Don't be offended if someone's front bumper hits the back of your head because you wanted your taillights to look cool.
