I just recently installed some red neons for my car. After I got it all hooked up and and ready to go I turned it on and one of the tubes was only half lit up. It looked as if the light was struggling to go farther but faded out. Would this be a bad conection? I wouldnt think it would be burnt out because they flicker out. You guys got any idea? Thanks in advance.

either a bad tube or the connection... is this the last tube in series? if so, you may have resistence in the wire by not being a large enough gauge and thus the tube isnt getting enough power to light

I actually hooked it up directly to a car battery and it was still doing the same thing.

id say a bad tube, or a bad transformer if each tube has its own supply.

call the manufacture, or take it back to where you got it

switch the position the neons are in in the circuit and it will tell you if it's a circuitry issue or if it's the neon. if the same neon goes bad in the different position you know that's it. if the other one goes bad you know it's the wiring. i've hear you might need a relay. also try wiring in parallel for less resistance

Ill try that thanks. Also now another one isnt working at all! And the car has literally not been moved since they were installed.

then your wiring is probably bad. if youve blown 2 neons

Sounds like a Positive Ground Loop surge. focus particularly on the Positive connections when going over the wiring.
