I have a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup that has the lamp out indicator for all the external lights. I built a 12 gauge wiring harness for my headlights with new plugs. The thing is I can't remove the bulbs from the factory plugs because the lamp out indicator comes on in the dash as well as a chime. Is there any way to wire up some resistors in the factory wiring at the headlight plug to fool the computer into thinking the headlight bulb is really there and on so that I can remove the bulbs from the factory plugs?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

they make "load resistors" that you can buy, you can use the bigger ceramic resistors but they get real hot. or just remove the lamp out indicator bulb.

Someone correct me if I am wrong. I want to install resistors so that I can remove my 9007 headlamp to fool the computer into thinking the bulb is still there. If I go by ohms = volts(squared) divided by watts, then that should give me the resistance for the low beam and high beam right??? The low beam being 55 watts should give me a resistance of 2.618 ohms and the high beam 65 watts should give me a resistance of 2.215 ohms. Should I go by this or actually test the resistance on the headlight bulb itself?? If this is correct, then these are the resistors I need???

Thanks,
