Im not sure if you can help, but im trying to do something to my taillights. The bulb i believe is a 3157, dual filiment, I want to take away the dual filiment bulb, and replace the turn signal function with a 194 bulb, i cant figure out how to wire it, without the turnsignal flashing fast, i havent tried it yet, but i need to know,

What are the three wires coming out of the harness of a 2002 Cavalier Tail Light bulb,?? other than the ground, what are their functions? Thank you!

I figured out the wires, but im still confused as to how i can separate the two functions of the 3157 bulb (brake and turn signals) to just being a brake light, and using a separate 194 bulb as a turn signal??

there should be 3 wires for the bulb, ground, brake wire and parkign light wire. you can branch off the ground wire so the parking light and brake light wire will have its own ground, to stop the fast flashing you will need to use a "load resistor"

can you gimme some more info on this? Im so relieved to have someones help. What do you mean "branch off" the yellow wire(driver side) and green wire (pass side) are the brakeing/turnsignal light, and the brown is the parking light. I want to use a new bulb, a 194 bulb, as the turn signal and use the original bulb only as the brake light. (just makin sure you got me)

Many many GM vehicles out there use the turn signal filament as both turn signal and brake. Your car happens to be one of them. Now, here is the bonus part. There will also be a white or light blue brake light wire at the 3rd brake light in the middle of the rear window. Wire your yellow and green to the 194 on each side. Run a new brake only wire from the 3rd brake light to the original bulb.

Done.
