Sorry if this question has been asked already, but I just could not find and answer.  I wanna hook up about eight blue led lights in my trunk, and I want them to come on whenever the trunk is opened.  My main question is can I just connect them to any 12volt source or do the leds need to be hooked up through some type of relay or circut board.  If anyone could help me it would be greatly appriciated.

Use a relay that will convert - to +. Ground neons, wire power to relay. Use the trunk pin switch to activate the relay. You could wire ground directly through the switch, but there is no need to run extra current through it with out knowing what the current capabilities of the switch.

Resistor each if parallel or single resistor if series. Depends on how you wire them. Resistor also varies as to the LED.
