How do I install strobe lights into headlights? I'm a volunteer firefighter and I bought a set of 4 channel strobes for my car. Can I drill into the headlamp and glue them in or something?

you have to drill into your head lights with a 1" drill i used a unibit it worked great as for sealing they usually come with a foam washer on the stobe but you can use silicon and the wiring is pretty straight forward. what fire department are you in?

it is legal to use orange strobes in a vehicle correct? as long as they arent blue or red? im planning on putting them in for emergency purposes, as ive seen that most vehicles that do a lot of pulling over use orange or white strobes, i think it would be a good idea to put them in my buick.

in most states blue strobes are illegal altogether. You can usually have red, as long as they are on the rear of the vehicle. White or amber are usually allowed.

i wouldn't use a drill....i tried using a drill bit and ended up cracking my housing....i used a solder gun to melt a hole and a dremel with a 1/4" sanding tip to make it the right size

That's odd, I've used hole saws and unibits on hundreds of headlight installs with no problems. ------------- I See

i didn't have a hole saw avalible at the time....if I did I probably would have used it. I was mostly referring to standard drill bits ------------- you can never have too much of a good thing

Make sure you clear out all the particles from your headlight lens. If not you can melt the little piece to the inside of your housing.

legal wise, so long as you have your tag registered as a volunteer firefighter you can have the wag/strobe lights. My cousin thought they'd make a great effect otherwise...5K fine. Needless to say, they came off immediately. But yes, any color but blue is typically fine. Call the DOT or DMV just to be sure though

i believe that Amber or yellow strobes are exempt from the alternating flash rule. but you can only use them if you're hauling somthing, broken down, or otherwise a road hazard
