I installed an aftermarket hid kit It was supposed to be plug and play but when the daytime driving lights come on they flicker im quessing not enogh power but when the lights are switched on they come on full brightness can i install a relay for both ballasts and do i have to use a relay for each does the common have to come directly from the battery or can I use the power from the headlight plug thanks

I would use a relay for each ballast, and get the power directly from the battery. I have a 8000K kit on my Scion and it was "Plug-N-Play", yeah right. it had a power and ground wire. always get the power off the battery, even if the HID company says it's ok to run off the headlight wire just get the battery to power it. you will have less problems.

The way a HID system works is that the ballasts converts the low power input into a high power output. That is why the manufacturer says that you can use the headlight 12+ to trigger the HID lights instead of having to go to the battery. Regardless, using a relay to trigger the HID lights will work and you can set it up to bypass the running lights and have the HID's turn on with your parking lights instead if you wanted to.
