I have a customer that doesn't want to spend the money on a wig wag (alternating high beam flash) module from Gahls or any other vendor...Is there a way I can hook up two flasher units to achieve the same desired effect? Also, the same customer has some off the shelf strobes...(I think best buy or some other mass retailer) I told him I could get him the police packages, but still has a tight pocket...any way to hook some kind of power amp to boost light output? This is a 100% show car...trailered to shop and all...will not be used on street. He wants the best for the lowest $$$, don't we all, but can't convince him to purchase the real deal. Thanks in advance.

I find it hard to believe that they won't spend $20 + shipping from galls for a headlight flasher.  I would charge more in labor to custom build anything for them for that.  As far as strobes go, you get what you pay for.  There are several out there that cost less then Whelen and Federal and work just as good.  I think Emergency Vehicle Systems makes one that is pretty darn close to the Whelen and costs less.

It would just save both of you a lot of trouble if you can just get him to buy the correct equipment.  Much more cost effective for you and him too.  As you said in your post, it's a 100% show vehicle so, why not finish it the right way.  Just my 2 cents anyway.

lol i did the same on my show truck...

tell him the cheap kits are lame.  even at my cost a whelen 90w x4 kit was over $400.  ask him y he doesent see them all the time, then tell him "bad ass work aint cheap, cheap work aint bad ass."

the headlight switch could work as a wig wag kit... on,off,on,off....

Sometimes you can find some good deals on ebay.  I would also check some of the off brands.  I just installed a couple of strobe kits from Star Warning Systems.  90 watt power supply, 24 flash patterns/combinations.  Not a bad system and less expensive than Whelen.  Whelen 6 outlet 90 watt power supply, 4 bulbs and cable roughly $250.....Star system is about 20 bucks less and comes with 6 bulbs and cable.  Wiring is just like whelen's and in fact, the cables they came with were from whelen.
