i currently have a 2000 trans am.  the interior lights dim automatically when the doors are closed. driven by the body control module and some sort of relay.

the lights are negative side turn on.

any ideas on how i can duplicate this process for a sort of universal kit for any car??

There is acompany that makes a module for this. They specialize in mustang parts but they do offer a universal kit. I will try to find it online.
