Wondering if anyone can tell me how to disable the auto-on feature in my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix SE, I disabled my DRL's but still annoying in mornings/evenings when my headlamps automatically turn on. I'v seen a few gp's around at night with all lights off except their fogs.

Yeah I was told that their is probably a photoresistor in the dash somewhere. I was hoping someone knew where it is located and if by just unplugging it will stop my auto-ons from comming on? or is that all to easy and that i will hafta change the photoresistor with a smaller one fooling my car into that it is daytime all the time?

Still unable to find any information on how these work, if there even is a photoresistor, and location of it if there is one. nobody owns a grand prix and disables their auto-ons?

cant you see it from just sitting in your car? most sensors are visable so the sunlight gets to them

Look at the middle of dash by the defroster vent. There is an oval shaped piece that snaps in. It has a recessed hole (photo eye) and either an LED or a plastic piece (where alarm indicator should be). Carefully pry up and you can get to the wiring for the photo eye. I have a 2001 GT, but have not disabled the auto on lights...I'm lazy and like that the lights come on when needed! LOL
