i put some l.e.d. bulbs in my tail/brake lights and my center brake. after i did it i noticed that the center brake is staying lit even though i dont' have the brake pushed, then it gets brighter when the brake is pushed. how can i fix this so that it is only lit when the brake is pushed? should i use load resistors on the tail/brake bulbs to make the current pull more so that the center brake will stay off? thanks guys

eric

You would be best off to find out why the LEDs are coming on.  Most likely your source doesn't rest at 0vdc when off, providing enough potential to light the LEDs.  I personally wouldn't try using any load resistors, as they could lead to more problems.  Find out what your voltage is across the resistor at rest and when the brake is pushed, and then go from there.

alright, i just got done checking voltages, their below.
all voltages are at the 3rd brake

both incandescent tail light bulbs in : .06
one incandescent tail light bulb in : .04
NO incandescent tail light bulb in : .02

l.e.d. bulb in 1 tail light : 10.68

and it does the same thing with both led bulbs in.
and of course when the brake is pushed it gets regular 12 volts either way
makes no sense to me, what could it be???

If it was me, I would check the volage running accross when the brake is applyied, if 12v, then wire a small 12v relay in there. Then only when 12v is being applyed the lights will come on.
